Welcome To The Home Of                                   Soap Street TV.

The ultimate Aussie soap opera parody

Born in 1988 from two schoolboys protesting the axing of iconic television Soap opera Sons and daughters , Soap Street became a cult phenomenon and stage spectacular starring Australia’s biggest soap stars.

From schoolboy protest to cult stage phenomenon

When Australian favourite Sons and Daughters was axed in 1988, Christopher Barnes and Caleb Packham refused to watch its replacement. Instead, they took matters into their own hands and penned an irreverent, dramatic 12-part parody scripts packed with melodrama, outrageous cliffhangers, and classic Aussie grit.

Forgotten in a storage box for over a decade, the scripts resurfaced at the turn of the century. Adapted into a roaring stage production in Penrith in 2002, the show attracted actual soap stars to poke fun at their careers, paving the way for the legendary, sell-out VIP spectacle in Newtown.
